Hey, you ever wonder, just like I do,
Why being kind seems so tough to pursue?
When we were young, it seemed crystal clear,
“Be nice to others,” whispered in our ear.
Now, as an adult, it strikes me anew,
These simple truths from our childhood view.
I tell my daughter, as we play and twirl,
“Be kind, be gentle, give it a whirl.”
It’s funny, right? How we circle back,
To those childhood dreams we thought we’d lack.
Being decent, respectful, isn’t that hard,
A smile, a nice word, like a kindness card.
Just musing here, in the day-to-day grind,
Maybe it’s time for a change of mind.
From my little corner, in life’s loud game,
“Let’s spread some kindness,” that’s my aim.
